Fair Isle Mitts
Learn basic stranding while creating a Fair Isle mitten inspired by watching pheasants on the grass.
This workshop will help you:
- Work with 2 colours without tangling, and
- Recognize the colour principles that make Fair Isle designs effective
Skill Level: Intermediate – Must be familiar with knitting in the round. All demonstrations will be on double-pointed needles.
Materials provided: Original pattern and 5 colours of 100% wool.
Please Bring: Your completed homework and your lunch – coffee and tea will be provided.

Colour Theory through Fibre Prep
Max: 5 participants
In this class you will learn – some colour theory basics
- how to card fibre with hand cards
- how to blend different colours of fibre together with hand cards
- strategies for achieving a desired colour effect, to final knitted, woven, felted or hooked project
- how to create a colour gradient set of carded fibre.

Learn How to Weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom
The rigid heddle loom is very lightweight, portable and easy to use. In this class you will learn to warp the loom, weave a sampler and basic finishing techniques. There will be a maximum of 6 students in the class with 2 instructors. Please bring your lunch.

Learn to Knit
This class is for complete beginners. You will learn to cast on, knit and Purl to make a cosy Ebb and Flow cowl. Follow up help always available after the class at the shop.

Beginner Pick Up Stick Scarf
Join Tammy and learn how to weave the Tranquility Wrap. This wrap is pure luxury and uses one skein of fine alpaca from Galler yarns and one skein of mohair from Fleece Artist Handmaiden fine yarn.The pattern uses 1 pick-up stick to create a lovely lace and plain weave pattern. Students will come to class with their looms warped and should be comfortable with plain weave. We will cover tying on, hemstitching, inserting and using a single pick-up stick. This project uses a 24” loom and a 10 dent reed. If you need a 10 dent reed, please order it at the time of registration.
Maximum 6 participants.
Class includes materials, pattern (hard copy and pdf) and instruction Please bring the following to class:
- Minimum 24” warped loom (homework will be emailed or can be picked up at the store picked up after registration)
- Stick shuttle or boat shuttle and bobbin
- Extra warping sticks, at least 4 (the cardboard sticks that came with your loom) S-hooks
- T-pins
- Scissors
- 24” pick-up stick or extra shuttle
- Painter’s tape
- Marker
- Darning needle
- Loom stand if you have one.

Introduction to Rug Hooking
You will learn the basics of rug hooking using fleece and yarn from the Cotswold sheep on the farm! Pattern designed by Satupons, hook, hoop and fibre provided.
Please bring a pair of small, sharp scissors for snipping wool.

Sea Fever Knitalong
Spend a fun day learning all the tips and tricks of making these Sea Fever: The Gull’s Way wristers. Your teacher? None other than Shirl the Purl, co-author of the brand new Saltwater Socks, Caps, Mittens and More. We’ll spend time perfecting essential Saltwater techniques like two-handed fairisle knitting, jogless striping, lifted increases, paired half-hitch increases, and weaving in unused colours in stranded colourwork.
What to bring:
- 1 set of 4mm double pointed needles.
- A lunch. Tea and coffee provided.

Rigid Heddle Refresher Class
Has your loom been sitting unloved because you’ve forgotten how to warp, or have trouble getting good tension or you just aren’t happy with the results? Join Tammy for a refresher class. We will warp, wind, tie and weave. We’ll cover hemstitching, getting neat selvedges and dealing with issues that come up while weaving.
Class includes yarn and a PDF document containing instructions, tips and video links.
Students should have some weaving experience (this is not designed for first time weavers) Students will need a rigid heddle loom (any size) and a 7 or 8 dent reed. Please also bring warping sticks or paper, warping peg(s) and clamps, heddle hook, scissors, t-pins, s-hooks, shuttles (at least 2) pick up-stick, tape measure, darning needle, crochet hook, a stand if you have one, and anything else you may need for weaving.

Ribbed Socks on Circular Needles
A quick and easy sock pattern. Classic top down construction, using circular needles, the magic loop technique, and worsted weight yarn. Perfect for a quick gift!
Workshop will be divided into two sessions, 1 week apart. The first week we will cast on, learn the magic loop, and knit the leg. The second week we will tackle the heel, and knit the foot.
