Learn to Crochet

Interested in picking up a new craft? Come learn to crochet with Abby! We will go through all the basics of crochet and show you how to create your very own granny squares, no previous experience required. Stitches will include chains, slip stitches, single crochet, and double crochet. Granny squares are incredibly versatile, and can be used to make bags, blankets, sweaters, and more!

Needle Felting

Needle felting is a fun and satisfying craft. Create your own 3D sheep while learning tips and tricks about this traditional technique. Needle felting experience would be considered an asset but is not necessary.

Tapestry Weaving

Create a unique wall hanging while learning the craft of tapestry weaving.  Learn how to set up a frame loom as well as a number of basic weaving techniques and finishing skills.

German Short Row Heels

The German Short Row sock heel is pretty awesome: it looks great, it’s easily adjusted for different foot sizes and instep heights, and it’s easy to replace if you get a hole. In this advanced
class, we’ll knit the heel together and discuss how to modify it to suit your preferred sock knitting method and foot size.

Please bring: Your completed homework (in-progress sock, needles, and homework document), at least 4 thin stitch markers, scissors, and a darning needle.

Skill level: Intermediate. This class is intended for those that are 100% comfortable with knitting a pair of fingering-weight socks but would like to learn a new method to turn the heel.

Learn to Rug Hook

Come join Carrie Clem and learn to make your first rug hooking piece. Using Deanne Fitzpatrick’s Atlantic Canada-inspired kits, you’ll learn all the basics while discussing the history, resources, tools, and materials involved with this classic craft, all while enjoying tea and homemade oatcakes!

Beginner Basket Weaving

Come step away from your busy, chaotic lives and weave relaxation, community, and joy into your day with the unique, lost art of basketry. We will be weaving an approximately 8″x8″x8″ basket from start to finish! Paint and sealing oil will be included for you to take home and apply at your convenience. Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

Level: No experience needed, just bring your desire to learn a new skill!

Skill level: Beginner
